Fence & Deck Painting in San Antonio

Refresh the outdoor spaces around your home with a finish chosen for the surface. Fence panels, railings and deck boards deserve individual attention, especially where existing coatings are worn or uneven.

From the Lava Painting project portfolio

Decide which outdoor surfaces need work

Fence length and height, deck size, railings and steps all affect the project. Identify whether one or both sides of a fence are included and which areas can be reached from your property. Gates, adjacent plants and outdoor furniture should be part of the access conversation.

Review paint, stain and the existing coating

The current finish matters when choosing the next one. Tell us what was previously applied if you know it. Ask whether painting or a staining option is appropriate for the material and desired appearance; the agreed coating and preparation should be named in the estimate.

Separate coating work from repairs

Loose boards, deteriorated wood and drainage problems are not solved by a new color. Point them out during the assessment so any required repairs can be discussed separately. Coating work should begin with a clear understanding of what is sound and what needs attention.

Check the outdoor warranty carefully

The existing warranty lists two-year coverage for qualifying deck, fence and metal work rather than the four-year interior/exterior painting term. It also describes preparation conditions and exclusions, including some horizontal surfaces exposed to standing water. Review the complete wording before approving your project.

A few helpful answers

Fence & Deck Painting FAQs

Have a question about your own property? Tell us about it when you request an estimate.

Can both sides of my fence be included?

Identify which sides you want finished and whether access is available. Work outside your property line or through a neighboring property requires arrangements before it can be included.

Should my fence be painted or stained?

That depends on the current coating, material condition and the appearance you prefer. An assessment can establish which options are suitable; do not assume a different finish can simply be applied over the existing one.

Does the four-year warranty cover fences and decks?

The published warranty describes a separate two-year term for qualifying fence, deck and metal work, with preparation requirements and exclusions. Ask for the terms that apply to your particular surfaces.

Are damaged boards repaired as part of painting?

Repairs are not automatically included in coating work. List damaged or loose areas during the assessment and ask for any agreed repair scope to be identified separately.
